Upsizing Webstores2000.mdb MS Access database to MS SQL 7.0 Creating the MS SQL Server 7.0 Webstores2000 Database On the machine you installed your SQL server open "SQL server Enterprise Manager". Right Click on Databases and select "New database..." Create a new Database (i.e. websotres2000) with at list 10 MB disk space and 3MB transaction log space. (This should automatically grow as your Webstores 2000 database grows) After you have created the new database Go to Start->Programs->MS SQL Server 7.0->Query Analyzer and open up MS Query Analyzer. Working with MS Query Analyzer: With MS Query Analyzer, Connect to your SQL server database, then select the Webstores2000 database you just created. From Drop Down Menu Click on "File"->"Open" and select the webstores2000.sql from %Webstores2000%/database/ folder. From Drop Down Menu Click on "Query" -> "Execute" to run the SQL script you loaded. This will create 44 tables in your empty Webstores2000 database. Close Query analyzer. Importing Default Data From MS Access Webstores2000.mdb To Webstores 2000 MS SQL Server Database: From "MS SQL server Enterprise Manager", Right Click on your Webstores2000 Database then select "All Tasks"->"Import Data" Click "next" From the Drop Down menu select the data source as Microsoft Access. in the "File Name" Box Select the Webstores2000.mdb file inside %webstores2000%/database/ Click "Next" Make sure the destination data source is your Webstores2000 SQL database! Click "Next" Select "Copy table(s) from source database" Click "Next" Click on "Select All" to select all tables to be copied. Click "Next" Make sure the "Run Immediately" check box is checked Click "Next" Click "Finish" The wizard should start copy data from the MS Access Source Database to your new Webstores2000 MS SQL server database, if you received an error message, try the whole process again, if the process failed for some reason please email us and we will assist you in the upsizing process. DSN & ODBC Set up. From your computer select "Start"->"Settings"->"Control Panel". Open the 32 bit ODBC Manager. Select the "System DSN" Tab and Click on "Add" Select the SQL Server Driver and click on "Finish" Fill in the following information: Name For your data source: Websotres2000sql Server: Fill in the name of your SQL server Click "Next" Set up your SQL authentication information Click "Next" Change default Datable to Webstores2000 that you created before... Click "Next" Click "Finish" make sure you test the data source you just created!
