Why did we choose ASP over COLD FUSION ?

We came from the cold fusion world, where we had lot's of exposure to the CF developers community. we had decided to move to ASP since we saw big opportunity in bringing  the ASP developer a complete & affordable  e-commerce system that has a room to grow as well.

1. ASP is better supported: there are hundreds of sites for ASP developers, thousands of ASP consulting companies and hundred of thousands of ASP users/developers. ASP was created by Microsoft and is the official web language for Microsoft website as well as for other leading web sites (dell.com, 1800flowers.com,  etc.)

2. ASP is free, you do not have to purchase license for ASP. if you have win 95/98/NT you have ASP.

A simple scenario can show how much can be saved by using ASP versus CF. 
Suppose you buy Webstores 2000 and need to install it on a cluster (i.e. several computers), with Cold Fusion you will have to purchase additional CF license for each computer (e.g. 5 servers = 5 CF licenses), each CF server license can cost thousands of dollars, with ASP you don't need to purchase anything, it comes with the web server free!

3. The only advantage CF may had over ASP is it's ease of use.
Not any more!
